Day Four, Five and Six: Little Breakthroughs

Another day, another level of cuteness. We were very fortunate to have Gramma Deane here over the weekend, but now, she has returned home to Boston. Fortunately, it seems like Eliza is getting comfortable in her bassinet and crib for short spells, which means Mommy and Daddy can now have short breaks for silly things like eating, showering and sleeping.

Yesterday, Eliza had her first big day out in the world, as we traveled ten blocks to visit the pediatrician. She passed her checkups with flying colors, though she wasn’t in the mood to open her beautiful eyes up for the Doc. As a side note, she is in the 96th percentile for height, but 20th percentile for weight, which means she definitely does NOT have a Freitas body. She is already back up past her birth weight, to the point the pediatrician thought he had used formula. All credit to Micaela for the hard work of providing nutrition ever two hours!

Another little breakthrough is the start of tummy time. The Doc said Eliza had a great “sniper crawl”, though I like to think of it as “Down Dog”. She is strong kid already, and doesn’t like staying put for very long.
