A farewell to India, until we meet again

We are leaving Dharamsala later this week and heading to Kathmandu for Christmas and beyond to be with Uncle David, Auntie Miyoko and cousin Marisa.  We can’t wait to see them and spend some time in Nepal, but are also very sad that our time in India has come to an end.  Dharamsala is such a special place–living amongst our fantastic neighbors and friends in this community of Tibetans, even for such a short time, has been a life-altering experience.  It’s been incredibly refreshing to have a break from the chaotic, frenetic western world (especially nyc!), and spend time in this magical mountain town rich with culture, spirituality and nature.  Nate will be back once or twice a year for short trips, and hopefully Eliza and I will be able to tag along again soon.

We will miss our lovely hosts, the Taklhas, who have been so kind and generous to us, our friends, especially Lobsang, Kyizom and Jigdal who made us feel so welcome, our nanny Wongmo and her son Tsering, and of course, the downstairs dogs Norbu and Tsingay.  Some pictures below of our local friends and family, and from a Tibetan wedding–a first for us!
