We are going back in time a bit on this post, as we missed a very important day… Thursday! Eliza really wanted to start exploring all of her toys and playthings, so we unveiled her “Funky Farmyard Activity Mat” (Thanks, Jen and Patrick!). She took to it right away, rolling around, kicking, spitting up, and otherwise completely ignoring the funky farmyard animals all around her. Give her some time, however, and I think she’ll be a real funky farmer.
Thursday afternoon we had a welcome visit from Mary Pat and Cormac, who remember how little Micaela was when she was born two months early at 4lbs. Eliza was happy to learn she has family in Brooklyn, and Mommy and Daddy were happy to hear that they are up for babysitting! Thanks to Mary Pat for the amazing chicken, risotto, asparagus, wine and brownies – a feast fit for royalty.
I love newborns and wish we were there with you. Treasure this time and take lots of pictures and video. I wish we had taken more because I never thought I would forget how little she was or what that time was like but it all becomes fuzzy over time. Paloma LOVES to watch her baby videos and we have so few of them. Your love for Eliza comes shining through in all of your reports. We are so happy for you and we feel her little light shining all the way to California.
She’s so beautiful! Glad to hear you guys were pampered with a nice meal. XO
