After nearly six months of life, it was time for Eliza to return to her ancestral homelands of Sacramento, California! Her Grandma Freitas decided to host a Halloween Day Baby Brunch, in honor of the three new babies, all born this year: Eliza, Aunt Mikette’s son Luca and cousin Garrett’s daughter, Paige. There were so many wonderful adventures had on this trip, including Eliza’s first cross country flight (she only cried for a few hours), meeting her other huge extended family, dressing up in three Halloween costumes (kitty, peapod, pumpkin), being babysat and hugged by Grandma Freitas, and spending time with Grandpa Freitas in his backyard garden. She really loved seeing Grandpa feed his bluejay friends by hand in the morning sun, and swinging in the backyard where Daddy used to swing when he was her age.
Eliza also got to meet Mommy’s friends’ baby Mia, who was born not long after her. Mia’s parents Amber and Joe met up with Eliza and her entourage in Davis at the Farmer’s Market. They all then went to Ethiopian food, which Mommy and Daddy hope becomes one of Eliza’s favorite things to eat (it does look a bit like baby food after all)!
We have so many pictures to share, so stay tuned for more California adventure!
